How to Use This Document
------------------------

To read this file online, maximize Microsoft® Windows® Notepad and use
the PAGE DOWN and PAGE UP keys. You can also print the file in any
Windows-based word processing program by clicking Print on the File menu.

Contents

This compact disc contains the supporting files for this course.
To view the contents, double-click autorun.exe or default.htm.

The following table describes the contents.

File or folder Description
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Autorun.exe When the compact disc is inserted into the
CD-ROM drive, or when you double-click the
Autorun.exe file, this file opens the compact
disc and allows you to browse the Student
Materials compact disc.

Autorun.inf When the compact disc is inserted into the
compact disc drive, this file opens Autorun.exe.

Default.htm This file opens the Student Materials Web
page. It provides students with resources
pertaining to this course, including additional
reading, review and lab answers, lab files,
multimedia presentations, and course-related
Web sites.

Readme.txt This file explains how to install the software
for viewing the Student Materials compact disc and
its contents and how to open the Student Materials
Web page.

2373B_ms.doc This file is the Manual Classroom Setup Guide. It
contains a description of classroom requirements,
classroom setup instructions, and the classroom
configuration.

DemoCode This folder contains demonstration code.

Flash This folder contains the installer for the
Macromedia Flash 5.0 browser plug-in.

Fonts This folder contains fonts that are required to view
the Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation and Web-based
materials.

Labs This folder contains files that are used in the
hands-on labs. These files may be used to prepare
the student computers for the hands-on labs.

Media This folder contains files that are used in
multimedia presentations for this course.

Mplayer This folder contains the setup file to install Microsoft
Windows Media™ Player.

Practices This folder contains files that are used in the
hands-on practices.

Webfiles This folder contains the files that are required
to view the course Web page. To open the Web page,
open Windows Explorer, and in the root directory
of the compact disc, double-click Default.htm or
Autorun.exe.

Wordview This folder contains the Word Viewer that is used
to view any Word document (.doc) files that are
included on the compact disc.



To view the contents of this compact disc, you will need:
1. A computer running Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium
Edition, Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000, or
Microsoft Windows XP.
2. VGA or higher resolution monitor, Super VGA, 256 colors
minimum; True Color recommended.
3. Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
4. Internet connection through a modem or proxy server.
5. Audio board with headphones or speakers recommended.

For best results: Display the maximum number of colors on your monitor.
1. Open My Computer, and then open the Control Panel.
2. Double-click Display to open the Display Properties dialog box. In
Windows XP, the Display icon is located in the Appearance and Themes
category.
3. Click the Settings tab. Under Color Palette, select the maximum number
of colors that your monitor allows, and then click OK.

To install Microsoft Internet Explorer:
* Visit the Microsoft Internet Explorer download site at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm

To install Microsoft Word Viewer:
1. Navigate to the Wordview folder on the compact disc.
2. In the Wordview folder, double-click the Wd97vwr32.exe icon.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

To install Microsoft Windows Media Player:
1. Navigate to the Mplayer folder on the compact disc.
2. In the Mplayer folder, double-click the mpfull.exe icon.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

To install the Macromedia Flash 5.0 plug-in for Microsoft Internet Explorer
1. Navigate to the Flash folder on the compact disc.
2. In the Flash folder, double-click the Flash5A.exe icon.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

To open the Student Materials Web page:
1. Navigate to the root folder of the compact disc.
2. In the root folder of the compact disc, double-click Default.htm.
