Image Number 72 - Liver, alcoholic hepatitis, alcoholic steatosis
Both alcoholic steatosis and alcoholic hepatitis are evident in this slide. Arrow 1 is probably a central vein. Arrow 2 indicates an example of a fat filled hepatocyte showing macrovesicular change. Arrow 3 highlights an area with an extensive inflammatory infiltrate - most likely neutrophils that are phagocytosing necrosed hepatocytes. Mallory bodies are not easily seen here.
