Sciatic Nerve
Movie for broad-band (300kbps)
Patient position: sidelying.
Apply the base of the tape to the
plantar surface of the foot, just
anterior to calcaneus.
Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex.
Extend the knee, flex the hip joint to
30 degrees, and apply the lower 1/3
of the tape with paper-off to very light
(10-15%) available tension to the
popliteal fossa.
Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
over the popliteal fossa.
Flex the hip to 45 degrees and abduct
to 30 degrees as you apply the middle
1/3 of the tape with paper-off to very
light (10-15%) available tension to the
ischial tuberosity.
Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
over the ischial tuberosity.
Flex the knee and hip to 90 degrees
and adduct the hip as you apply the
upper 1/3 of the tape with paper-off to
very light (10-15%) available tension
from the ischial tuberosity to the level
of the L5 transverse process.
Apply the end of the Kinesio Tex with
no tension.
