ATC FLIGHT RADIO - Version 2.0 - 15 June 2000.

Thank you for purchasing a Trevor Thom Multimedia Product. We hope you enjoy using the program and find it useful in furthering your knowledge about flight radio.

This version (2.0) contains upgraded radio procedures which became effective since the issue of version 1.5, the original. (Radio procedures up to and including ammendments issued 2 December 1999. All audio sequences have been re-recorded and all sequences have been left 'in the clear', unlike in ver. 1.5 where background noise was added to 'received transmissions' - in an attempt to have the audio quality approximately the same as in the 'real world' of flight. However, some users reported that some sequences were a little too hard to clearly understand.)

The following points are included for your information:

MINIMUM COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS:

Windows 95/98 (32 bit systems only). Whilst it has not been checked on N.T. 4.0, it may work.
IBM compatible computer, preferably a fast 486 or Pentium;
256 bit colour - preferably True Colour (24 bit);
8 MB RAM - it will work with 4MB, but at reduced speed, depending on how many other applications you are running at the same time;
CD-ROM drive - preferably 4 speed or greater.
Creative sound blaster sound card or compatible (and loud-speakers);
Colour monitor, set to at least 640 x 480 pixels,.

PLEASE NOTE: Maximum pixel setting to operate this software is 800 x 600 pixels - small font size - any greater pixels and the use of other than small fonts set on your display may cause the various tables and their contents, including some text, to be misaligned. If you do suffer from misaligned tables or text whilst using the software, please set to either 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 (small fonts) and try again.
Mouse or other Windows pointing device.
'Autorun' feature activated (or follow the instructions if not).
No files are downloaded onto a user's computer - the CD must be in the CD ROM drive for the program to work.

OPERATING THE PROGRAM:

The program is designed for Windows 95 and Windows 98 systems only.

This program has been extensively tested on W95 and W98, using computers ranging from older and slow 486 devices to Pentium 400 Mhz. Some older and slower computers may experience some small delays when buttons or hotwords are clicked until the activation of pop-ups (small information notes) and audio files, particularly those with older single speed CD ROM drives. In a general sense, the faster your computer, the faster will be the programs's operation.

To operate the program, simply place the CD in your CD-ROM drive and close the drive door - if your 'Autorun' feature has not been deactivated, Windows 95/98 will detect the CD in the drive after the drive drawer has been closed and the program will start automatically. There is a delay of several seconds before the program starts.

If 'Autorun' has been turned off, you may re-activate it through your Control Panel | System, but unless you are sure of what you are doing, there is an alternative method of starting the program:

Mouse click on:

Start | Run
Type in 'D:\ATCRADIO\Atcradio.exe'
(Substitute your CD ROM drive if not 'D:'
Click on 'OK'

The program will now activate.

Please note that no files are downloaded onto your hard drive; all files (including the necessary run-time files), are on the CD.

If you do experience any problems when using this software please contact the Aviation Theory Centre Help-line on (Australia) (08) 8556 2608. Please be near your computer (and have it switched on) at the time of calling.

PLEASE NOTE: Before making a call for help, please ensure that firstly your system is compatible with our list of minimum computer requirements; that you have installed the software according to the instructions and have noted the remarks regarding the use of displays in excess of 640 x 480, including the use of small fonts (If large fonts are being used, text alignment problems will occur within tables).

The software is designed to run from your CD drive and the CD must be in your CD-ROM drive at all times you wish to access it.

We trust you enjoy using the program.
