Keep it neat
It s tempting to make wire runs as
short as possible, but this can create a

Label all of your wires, and color-

memory to recall whether the blue wire

the lighting supply, or the north rail.
When routing wires, use wire staples
to hold the wires in place. See fig. 11.
Using ordinary staples or wire nails
crimped over wires can cut into and
damage wire, leading to short circuits
and other failures.
Remember the keys to wiring: Keep
it neat and do it right the first time.
Using the right tools will make wiring
less of a chore, and more importantly
you ll save time for more important
things, such as running trains. 1
