Swiss Chcese

Skills: Fine-Motor Skills, Hole Punching Activity:

Cut yellow construetion paper into squares, each aboul ihe size of a slice of chcese. Set the construetion papersquare$ along with a few pairs of hole punches on the art tobie. Alluw the chi Id ren lo use the hole punches to crcate Swiss choosc.

Hamburger Art

Skills: Crcativity, Fine-Motor Skills, Cutting, 'lYacing, Gluing, Following Dircctions Aetivity:

Gather tho following materials and set them on Ihe art tobie: two tagboard circle patterns (one 5^ir and one 4"); a 3 ‘^“-sguare tagboard pattern; brown, groen, orange, white and yellow construetion papci-, glue; scissors; and red and yellow tempera paint in squirl bottles. Ailow the children to tracę Ihe patterns onlo the construetion paper to make a 5” round beef palty, a 4" tomato, and a 3'/2^,’-square piece of cheese (or let studenls use the Swiss cheese they madę in the above activily). Encourage the children to usc the construetion paper to free-cut other items such as piekłeś, lelluce, and onions. Have the children glue Ihe condimenls onto the beef patty, then add the red and yellow paint lo represenl mustard and ketchup.

Berry Baskct Printing

Skills; Following Directions, Fine Motor Skills Activity:

Gather $evcral green plastic berry baskets, a shallow howl of green tempera paint, and construetion paper. Have each child dip a berry basket in the paint and press the baskct on a shect of the construetion paper to make a prinl. When the paint dries, let students use sevcral different colors of crayon or marker to draw berries in tho basket prints on Iheir papers.
