9 U hanteert de taal nog niet helemaal vlot en zonder aarzeling (6).
10 Dit is normaal : Romę werd niet in een dag gebouwd.
11 In de volgende lessen zullen we onze woordenschat blijven (7) uitbreiden.

OPMERKINGEN
(1) Ik denk aan hel probleem: I m thinking of the problem. Ik denk over hel probleem na . I m thinking about (reflecting on) the problem.
(2) If an action took place only once in the past. toen is used instead of dan. Hij stond eiren stil: toen ging hij verder: He stood still for a moment; then he went on.
(3) Verbs starting with ont- do not have a ge- prefix in the past participle.
(4) The suffix -rljk (meaning rich' often in the sense of plentiful') occurs in many compound words; bosrijk. heavily wooded; beeldrijk, rich in imagery; belangrijk, important (rich in importance).
(5) Beschikken over: have at one's disposal. Ik beschik niet over veel tijd: l don't have much time at my disposal. Ze heelt alles lot haar beschikking: She has everything at her dispos-
(6) Hij antwoordde zonder te aarzelen He answered without hesitating.
(7) Blijven coupled with an infinitive means 'continue to'. Ze b!ijven werken: They continue to work.
