In Tom Clancys Splinter Celi, players take on the role of Sam Fisher, a member of the Third Echelon. Created by the National Security Agency (NSA), the Third Echelon is a different breed of military covert operatives.

Armed with some of the best hi-tech weapons and gadgets, Third Echelon operatives are taught to infiltrate, neutralize, and disappear. When two CIA agents mysteriously disappear in Azerbaijan, Fisher is sent in to investigate. After some probing, Fisher discovers that a former Soviet country, Georgia, is mounting a massive terrorist attack on the United States. Not only does Fisher have to find the source of the threat, he has to stop it from happening.

Visually, Tom Clancys Splinter Celi is wondrous. Its incredibly detailed textures and unbelievable dynamie lighting effects really show off the power of the Xbox. Other effects such as sparks from bullets, fire, and the use of thermal and night vision goggles provide for some incredible eye-candy.
