PREPARING THE CAKE AND BOARO

IColour 375g (12oz) of the sugarpaste (rotted foodant) green. Roli th>$ out and cover the cake board. tnmmmg the excess from the edge. and put it aside to dry. Tnm the crust from each cake then slice the top fiat on one cake and trim a rounded top on the other. fołlowing w here the cake has risen down to the base. Race the cakes one on top of the other.

2 Tnm around the base of the cake. cuttmg in at an mward angle to round it off. Cul the roof to slope siightly downwards on one s-de and at the front to make a fiat area for the doorway Sandwich all layers together with buttercream then spread a layer over the surface

CREATING THE HOUSE

3Colour 1,25kg (2'£łb) of the sugarpaste cream using a little golden brcwn food cofcuring pastę Add a bit morę and knead untii a mottled effect is obtamed. Roli out 640g (1fb 4V.oz) of the pastę and cover the cake. smoothmg around the shape and tnmming the excess. To create the rock effect. smooth angular ndges around the cake usmg the s<de of a cake smoother Place the cake on the board. slightły towards the back Cut out the door and Windows at the from us ng the tempiaies (see p.93). remowng the sugarpaste.

4 Roli out i25g (4oz) of the cream pastę and make the surface uneven. Cut out the larger pan of the door surround (see p 93) and stick
