UNIN/ERSITY ENTRANCE EXAM IN VIETNAM

Every year in July, candidates from all provinces flock to big cities to participate in the university entrance exam. In Vietnam, this is the most important exam in a student's life. At 18 years old, most of the students do not have a elear career direction. Consulting the family, they chose to study natural or social science, some have their talents such as acting, singing, dancing, arts, gymnastics evaluated. According to the results of this exam, the candidates will continue studying in universities, colleges or vocational schools. This short university entrance exam can evaluate the outeomes of 12-year studies. Thus the students have to prepare their mental and physical health for this exam. The annual university exam is not only for high school but also for adults. They are workers who want to have a college degree to change their life. Some have retired but want to return to college to acquire new knowledge. Whatever age they are, going to school is still a great pleasure for many people.
