NETWORKING STRATEGIES

1    Take the opportunity to build up new contacts whenever you are in business or social situations. Don't just talk to your friends and colleagues.

2 ......At parties, dont stay in one position. Move around the room so

that you talk to as many people as possible.

3    ...... Be the first to introduce yourself to others, especially to

successful people who have a wide rangę of contacts.

4 ......Repeat the person's name when you first meet them and use it

during the conversation, especially at the end.

5    ...... People do business with people that they like and trust. The

sooner you build up trust and try to help others, the fas ter your networking will produce results in terms of referrals and contracts.

6 ......It is easy to make a good impression but it is also easy to put

people off. One joke in bad taste or an offensive comment can destroy the chances for futurę business.

7 ......Keep in touch with the people you meet. Send an email after the

event to say how much you enjoyed meeting them and that you hope to see them again.
