RECEPTION OF TRANSCARPATHIAN INFLUENCE IN TRZCINIEC CULTURAL CIRCLE AS A SIGN OF LONG-DISTANCE EXCHANGE CONTACTS

In the period directly preceding the emergencc of the Trzeiniec cultural circle (TCC). the cultural formations thal occupied the eastern part of PolancL except for the Iwno culture (TC), generałly failed to take part in long-distance cxchangc eon-taets. The evidence of that fact is an insignificant number of bronze objects and the absence of hoards east of the Vistula River (Blajer 2001. Map 9, 18. 21. 33. 55,62,72,80,112, 1130). The Mierzanowice culture is a fascinating case in point. It was a closely-knit communication co mm unity, which was not subject to any major ęxtemal influence (Kadrów 1995: 92-94; 2001, 203) from the neighbour-ing highly-advanced communities (the Unćtice and FOzesabooy cultures), even though it occupied the area on their borders. The sole exception to this would be the Kujavia region, where a rclat i vcly significant number of bronze objects have been discovered. It was a result of a good location and a major role that the IC played in the amber exchange betwecn the Baltic coast and the Unśticc culture (Koiko 1979; 169 f.; Czebreszuk 1996: 250; Makarewicz 1998: 253-254).
Ałong with the emergencc of the TCC we may notice a significant rise in the influence of inspiralions Corning from the Transcarpathian cultural circle. We may find vessels which are formally and stylistically diversificd and have their analo-gies mainly in the FOzesabony (FC) and Mad'arovce cultures (MC), in the early siages of Tumulus cultures as well as in the Piliny and Suciu de Sus cultures (the deve!opntent of the views on this subject: Górski 2003: 89-97) Together with those, particularly in the southcm part of TCC rangę, we may observe an inflow of a higher number of bronze and other objects of spccifk categories (c.g. clcments of horse hamesses, i.e. bonę chcekpieces, as well as glass beads and sometimes
