Japan, 1985-87 Located m one of the busiest pedestnan mtersections of a popular district of Osaka, the Kirin Płaza tower stands out as a calm presence agamst a chaotic background of extravagant movie posters and signs for local restaurants, which include such remarkable kitsch designs as a giant crab with moving claws. Although very much in the mechanical style of Takamatsu, the tower takes on a solidity conferred in part by its remarkably crafted materials.
