Platę 2. Fastening for a mitten sleeve

A mitten sleeve, shown unbuttoned. It was worn morę by women (Kirtles, Fig 2), but also seen on men. The buttonholes are very close to the garment edge: their ends are whipped, not barred. Notę how the buttons are sewn on the very edge.
