Valve timing piocedmes

•    Removal/refitting requires:

•    Remove timing belt.

•    Engine at TDC on No.1 cylinder (1) or (2).

•    Ensure timing marks on camshaft rear sprockets aligned [3].

•    Remove camshaft front sprocket. Use tool No.3036.

•    Fit chain tensioner/camshaft adjuster retaining tool. Tool No.3366 orT10092 [4] or (5).

NOTĘ: DO NOT oveitighten chain tensioner/camshaft adjustei letaining tool as damage may occur.

• If reusing timing chain: Mark chain links with paint against timing marks on sprockets (6) & [7].

NOTĘ: Chain link on exhaust camshaft spiocket slightly offset fiom camshaft spiocket timing maik [6].

•    Ensure camshaft timing marks separated by 16 link rollers, with link rollers 1 and 16 aligned with timing marks as shown (6) & (7).

•    Remove and refit chain tensioner/camshaft adjuster complete with camshafts.

•    Tighten chain tensioner/camshaft adjuster bolts. Tightening torgue: 10 Nm.

NOTĘ: Allow 30 minutes aftei installing camshafts hefoie staiting engine to pievent engine damage.
