On rows 30, 32 and 34, join Back to Front with sl st as shown in diagram. After completing first half of Back, fasten off. Work se-cond half of Back to correspond bul omit buttonholes (work those rows in sc).

Row 4 : Tc over tc, 3 ch. work ⁰ dbl sh over dbl sh, 4 ch, for pineapple (1 sc and 4 ch in center st of each 3-ch lp) 5 limes; end with dbl sh over dbl sh, 3 ch, tc in each of next 7 tc. Cut thread. Back opening is now finished. Hereafter work in mds. Attach thread in center tc of buttonhole band with sl st. Rnds 7-33: Cont working as shown in diagram. After closing rnd 8, work sl st in each of first 6 sts to beg md 9 in ch lp of shell; in all other mds work sl st as in md 6.

ARMHOLE RUFFLE (4) : Following diagram, work 1 md in dc, then 5 rows of lace edging around each armhole.

NECKLINE EDGING : Work 1 row in dc across entire neckline, then 1 row of picoted shells as per diagram.

FIN/SH/NG: Sew on buttons opposite buttonholes. Sew bonom of button band to bottom of buttonhole band, matching tc to tc. Wash completed dress carefully. When dress is nearly dry, iron over press cloth.
