Rosette Collar
Using Coats Chain Mercer Crochet Nos. 20 and 60, each half collar measures 6.5 cm (2Vi in) in width, and 19 cm (7Vi in) in length at the neck edge; length and curve are adjustable.
Matching cuffs can be madę from the same pattern. The double-layered rosettes are worked first.
Start at A for the smali upper rosette with a ring of (6ds, p) twice, 6ds. Continue from the diagram, joining the first and last rings as explained in KNOW-HOW 14 (p. 70). Tie the threads together at the back of the work to complete the cup-shaped rosette. Leave a minimal space, and start the larger rosette at B with a ring of 8ds, p, (4ds, p) 3 times, 8ds. Continue from the diagram, joining the first and last rings as before. Sew the two rosettes together, so that the smaller is positioned exactly in the centre of the larger.
Double-layered rosette
Using No. 20 crochet cotton, leave an end of approximately 15 cm (6 in) for sewing.
Main pattern
Using No. 60 crochet cotton, start at C with a ring of 4ds, p, 4ds, join to the larger rosette as shown, 4ds, p, 4ds, rw.
