Supplies:
" PFAFF® hobby"! 350 p punching machine
" Sewing machine
" Wool felt in light green, 0.3 m x 160 cm
(½ yd x 60 )
" Unspun wool for needle-felting in pink,
rose, and light blue
" Matching sewing thread
" Scissors
" Tracing paper
" Iron-on transfer pencil

1 Trace and cut out the heart and facing pattern pieces. Use the pattern pieces to cut out the heart shape and facing
from green felt. Cut1 front heart piece, 1 back heart piece and 2 facing pieces. Also cut 2 straps from green felt,
each 3 x 75 cm (1 1/4 x 30 ). Trace one of the patterns onto the front heart piece, either free-hand or with the
iron-on transfer pencil.
2 Pull a long, thin strip from the felting wool. Lay the beginning end of the wool strip in the center of one spiral and
use the PFAFF® hobby"! 350 p punching machine to felt it in place. Several felting needles can be attached to the
machine, to make the felting very fast. You can practice felting on a scrap of fabric first. Twist the wool strip slightly
and lay it in the shape of your chosen pattern while continuing to felt it in place. Fold the end of the wool strip
under and felt it in place.
3 For each dot, roll the desired felting wool in small circles. Place the circles as desired and felt them in place.
4 For each strap, fold the felt strip in half lengthwise. Stitch the long edges together, approximately 5 mm (3/16 ) from
the fold, leave 3 cm (1 ź ) open at each end. Trim the strap seam allowances to 3 4 mm (1/8 ) wide. Lay the facing
pieces under all the heart pieces, matching the edges exactly. Stitch the facing to the heart the width of the presser
foot. Use pinking shears to trim the seam allowances along upper edge of heart, close to stitching. Place the strap
ends under the curves on the upper edges of the heart front and back pieces and stitch in place. Lay the heart front
and back pieces together, wrong sides facing. Stitch edges together, the width of the presser foot, up to seam mark,
as shown on the facing. Trim the seam allowances on these edges with pinking shears.
