The purpose of the work was to clarify the term of the language games. The definitions of this term vary from author to author which show very clearly that the term games has not a stable position in the linguistics. One part of the work is therefore trying to outline the origin and history of the term.The term games appeared in almost all disciplines what evoked diffusing the different opinions on this subject from one discipline to another. The linguistic theory of games for example accepted some cathegories for the gamę description from the mathematic gamę theory. The term language games is not only problematic because of the definition uncertainty but as well because of the huge amount of things which he represents. My work is an example of that fact. The work shows that the term language games can cover up everything from the theoretical interpretation done by Ludwig Wittgenstein to feuilletons of polish joumalist Michał Ogórek.
