Highlights

Boosting building renovation, an overview of good practices

End of September 2013. the new French govemment reaffirmed its previous ambitions to massively increase building renovation rates. with the overall goal to refurbish 500.000 buildings per year by 2017. To support the French debate around renovation roadmaps. the French NGO CLER commissioned BPIE to produce a report on successful building renovation programmes. as an overview of good practices in Europę and around the globe. On Monday this report was presented in Paris to a large group of stakeholders. from building industry and real-estate assodations. environmental organisations. consulting firms and Ministries (Housing and Environment / Energy).

lnnovative and integrated policy sets that aim to trigger ambitious nZEB refurbishment

This report provides an overview and assessment of different policy instruments targeting modemisation in the building sector. The instruments in question cover insulation measures for the building envelope and either aim at increasing the effidency. or at incentivising the use of renewable energy. in heating and cooling systems. The study also dives into a broad spectrum of policy approaches ranging from regulatory measures and economic incentives to "soft" policy instruments. lnnovative measures are highlighted to broaden the perspective and enrich the schemes in place.
