The duthor presents the basie concepts related to the storage of knowledge in computers: knowledge, inferencing rules, expert sy stems and knowledge-based Systems. The method of representation of knowledge in expert Systems make the production rules, semantic networks, frames theory, msthematical logics. As the most popular expert Systems there are indicated Systems based on production rules. The inferencing strategies in the production rules-based Systems are goal directed reasoning and data driven reasoning. There is discussed the way of designing and constructing of a knowledge-based system.
