Estorick points out that for the past two years Matuszewski has continued an unre-lenting campalgn not only a ainst the Soviet Govermoent, but "against all Russian culture. Contrary to the official efforts of the United States to consolidate relations with the Sowiet Union, the Polish ress for which Matuszewski prowides intellectual leadership proclairaed coilaboration ijmaosslble." Matuszewski with the publisher of "Nowy Świat" and of a pro-Horthy Himg:arian daily formed tne so-called "Knapp" organisation, the "National Conjinittee of Awericans of Polish Docent", to embarrass tne Sikorski overruuent. After Sikorski%s death "Knapp" succeeded in enlisting the support of many conservative-li eral e-lements of the Polish-American co-anunity. Ferhaps the most prominent is the Pre: ident of the Polish National Alliance Kozmarek who crginally supported Sikorski.
Declaring that "Knapp" is the chief group behind the Buffalo Con&ress, Estorick says that "Kna.p's" treasurer, tne publisher of "Dziennik Polski", Januszevraki, revealed the political purpose of the meetini. when he i^serted that the votes of Poles, Lithuenians, Estonians, natylans and Pi ns "vdll be directed ay.ai11* tha Ad-ministration whieh sold theso Europęan countries to Soviet Russia".
