How to obtain updates for your Admiralty Digital Products
Updating Admiralty Digital Publications
The UK Hydrographic Office is eon stan tly updating the information it has about Pilot Servicest Vessel Traffic Services, Port Operations, Lights and Fog Signals. The Admiralty Digital Publications (ADP) product provides a mechanism by which you can obtain the latest data and update the information displayed in the applications.
Knowing When to Update Admiralty Digital Publications Data
There are several ways to check the update status of the data that ADP is using:
On the toolbar - The toolbar tells you the week number that your oldest Area was last updated. Since you can always choose to update some Areas and not others, your Areas may not all be up-to-date to the same week. The toolbar will show you the week of the least up-to-date Area.
Viewing Area Properties - Right click on an Area in the filter view and select ‘Properties'. The Area Properties Dialog shows the week to which each Area is updated.
Data Updating Wizard
The updating process is managed by the Data Updating Wizard which is accessed by selecting ‘Data Updating Wizard’ from the ‘File’ menu. This wizard manages all aspects of updating your data.
The easiest and quickest way to keep your data current is to automaticaliy update using the Internet - you will need direct access to the Internet on the PC on which you run the ADR Alternatively you can update via email either from the PC if it has email facilities, or you can storę update requests to send from a PC that does have email facilities. If you are not able to connect to the Internet or use email then you can opt to receive your update information on CD (your Agent should have asked whether you wished to receive CD Updates when you purchased ADP).
