almost certaihly were brought to the Stradonlce oppldum through foreign trade (cf. Svobodovó 1985,056-858, Fig. 1:9; Bfeń 1959,209-210). The decorative heads of Iron splkes, cladded wlth grooved bronze plates (Fig. 34:12, 13), were undoubtedly of locał provenance. Rectangular plt 116 contalned, In additlon to rlngs and splkes, direct evidence of craft metal working, I.e. bronze slag, even preserved wlthln a ceramlc melllng crucible, as well as other technlcal pottery and smlthlng slags. Together wlth regular clrcular feature 113, this pit probably formed part of an artisans workshop in the thlrd courtyard, developing In the yldnlty of the north side of the main road. Minutę pendants were also madę of Iron, e.g. In the form of a smali knlfe (sunken-floor feature 138 of the second courtyard) or axe wlth handle (house 23 of the fifth courtyard) (Fig. 34:16), Tholr purpose was no doubt symbolic. They served as amulets, whlch seemed to be have been very popular at the oppidum of Stradonlce accordlng to the testimony of older flnds (Pfć 1903, PI. XL:14; cf. Rybov& -Molykovś 1983,133).

Several items of glass jewelry were recovered. A colourless ring bead was found in a dark brown day layer, representing the finał phase of gully III (Fig. 35:3). This stratigraphically belonged to horizon 3. A fragment of a massńre ring bead madę from cobalt blue glass with a yellow whirl design (Fig. 35:2) was also discovered, dating to no later than the beginning of horizon 4. It was found at the base of a słony layer (7), between 78 -79 m in Part I (cf. Appendut 2, section G-H). This context represented a ground levelling layer madę prior to the construction of buildings of the latest horizon in the area behind the main entrance of the oppidum. The remaining fmd, from sunken-floor house 300, by the way along the rampart of the north circuit of the bailey, represented the most beautiful item to be discovered. It was a fragment of a bracelet madę from violet glass with a plastic wavy decoration (Fig. 35:4), type 16 according to T.E. Haevernick. Whilst ring beads belong to common types, large ring beads and bracelets with plastic decoration of the aforementioned type, from blue or vk)let glass, represent spedfic products of the Late La Tene period (LT D1). Their high concentratlon at Stradonice, as witnessed from numerous museum coUections, together with the finds of raw glass of a similar character, indłcates that local production was taking place at the oppidum (Vendovń 1972; 1980,80-83; 1981; 1990,142-156).
3. Components of armament and equipment
The remains of arms rarely occurred in the lnvesf(gated parts of the oppidum. An Iron fragment belonglng to a shield fitting (Fig. 36:9) was discovered in „Grubenhaus" II, near the earlier rampart of the neck fortiflcatlon.
