The ground hog is a small animal that lives and digs
under the ground. It is also called the woodchuck. Ground
hogs live in many parts of America. In the winter they
hibernate like bears and some other animals.
There is a legend saying that the ground hog wakes up
from its hibernation on February 2. February 2 is half
way between winter and spring. If the ground hog comes
out of its hole and it is sunny, it will see its shadow and
get frightened. Then there will be six more weeks of
winter. But if it comes out and the sky is cloudy, it will
not see its shadow and will not be afraid. Then spring will come very soon.
Some people believe this legend and they watch the sky on February 2. Many people are happy if it is cloudy on that day. They think spring will come soon. But most people think it is just a legend. What do you think?

We sell horse riding coats, jackets, socks, slim-legged trousers, gloves and long leather riding boots. Spend a minimum of Ł20 in our clothes shop and pay less for your horse riding lessons.

Standard lesson: Ł10 per hour.
Cross-country riding: Ł12 per hour. Four-wheeled carriages for Ł60
per half a day.

The Irish College of English
International Youth Summer School
The school is organised every summer from June to August in Dublin and attracts students from all over the world. It is a great opportunity for young people to improve their English.
Students stay with Irish host families within walking distance of the school facilities and attend classes in the mornings. They also participate in afternoon activities, such as listening to Scottish music, learning Irish dancing or visiting places of cultural interest.
Students are given a placement test on arrival and then are placed in a class appropriate to their level of English. All students receive their own textbook and additional materials free of charge. We have a maximum of 15 students per class, so students have an excellent opportunity to speak and to receive individual attention from their teacher.
